Hello!
Man ... the weekends go way too fast these days. Friday, Aiden had his play date with Brent S. They had a ball. The first thing Brent's mom said to me was that Aiden had wonderful manners. Man ... that makes me so proud. Earlier in the week a person at the daycare told me the same thing about Logan. I love when our parenting methods actually take! Anyway, Logan wasn't feeling well that day (I'll spare you the details) so we just vegged on the couch that evening. We watched Frosty, Frosty Returns and The Flight Before Christmas while all snuggled up on the couch. I love that. Saturday we didn't do too much as we were waiting for my parents to arrive.
I was scheduled to ring bells at W*l-M*rt for the Salvation Army that afternoon. Mom and dad hadn't arrived, so the boys got to join me for awhile. They were too cute! Logan was not thrilled, he just stood there saying, "I am CooooooooLLLLLLd!" But Aiden was having a great time! He was singing Jingle Bells and talking to anyone and everyone that walked in. At one point, he looked at his reflection and said, "Mom ... I kinda look like a dork (and he did ... no one looks great in a toboggan even if it is a Colts one). So, he decided to sing Jingle Bells with his own lyrics: Jingle dork ... Jingle dork ... Jingle dork today. It was too funny. Where does he get it? After we thawed out, we went to a 50th bday party for some friends and then to the park in CC to see the lights. It was a fun night.
Today we just hung around the house. Mom and Aiden organized his closed and clothes while Papaw, Logan and I just vegged. The above pics are the boys wrestling with Papaw. The top one Logan is kissing his nose. So cute.
Side note ... to anyone and everyone that has received a Christmas card from us ... I am soooooooooooooooooooo sorry if you now owe the USPS a penny. I just realized that I sent at least 20 cards out with the 41 cent stamp ... oops. I am such a dork sometimes! I am really not that cheap! Again, I am sorry.
Have a wonderful week!

Weekend Update

We had a very busy weekend. The boys were invited to their babysitters home in Alexandria for the annual Christmas party. They literally were counting the days down all week until they got to play with Jonah and "Seff" (Seth, but Logan says Seff and it's so darn cute!) Saturday was the Farmer Family Christmas Party (Marcus' fam) and the SDI Christmas Party. We were just party hoppers! Sunday Marcus and I went out shopping and got a majority of our Christmas shopping done ... HOORAY!

Oh, and a HUGE answer to prayer came along on Saturday morning. After having the house on the market for 6 months with no offer, we put out an email a week ago that we were going to rent our house and we've already gotten a renter! It's an answer to prayer for both sides and she's already called to say how nice and cozy the house it (ok, and to let us know that the fridge is having an issue, but I like to dwell on the positives!) Anyway, we are certainly learning that everything happens in God's time. We never wanted to become landlords, but right now selling isn't in the cards. Funny story though, the renter was thrill because the kitchen's theme is apples, the master bedroom is purple(ish) and the other bedroom is blue ... all three are the same as the house she has to move from! She said it was a sign.

Ok, I am off to make chocolate suckers with the boys. A little "elffett" (is that female for elf or is elf not gender specific?) gave us this chocolate melting machine and it's time to try it out. I'll post pics.

Have a wonderful week,

Carrie

Weekend

Hello!
We had a wonderful weekend. Friday night the boys stayed with their grandma so that Marcus and I could get ready for Logan's birthday party on Saturday. We went into Wal-Mart and bought a Ford F-150 motorized truck. Never in a million years did I think we'd ever buy one of these because of the price, but I found one on clearance for $79 and we couldn't pass it up! Logan was thrilled (picture in slide show below). We then came home and worked for 4 hours on the monster truck cake. We cut the shape out, constructed and decorated it. I was so proud of us! The tires were ding-dongs. Food Network Challenge has nothing on me! HAHA! It wasn't perfect, but was pretty impressive for me. The party went great. Logan got some great presents and we had a house full. Thanks to everyone that came to celebrate with us. Check out the slide show below of all the festivities!
Have a great week,
Carrie

Action Packed Weekend

Where do I begin? Friday night we took the boys to the Whitko homecoming football game. We had a great night of football, fireworks and family time. We came home and waited for my parents and Gavin to get there. As you know it was my dad's bday so Logan and I decorate dad's birthday cake (pictured above). We gave him his cake and gifts. Saturday we hung out at the fall fest riding rides and I was in the parade. That evening we headed to the mall for food and shopping. Sunday morning Aiden decided to run in the 1 mile fun run. Crazy ... I know! His cousin Brody said he would run with him (he's in cross country ... thanks Brody). Aiden finished 9th out of 18 runners that were probably 10 and under???? Either way we were VERY proud of him. He finished in 9 minutes and 14 seconds. Brody told us that he never stopped running! Seriously, I was more proud of him for running that than watching him play baseball. I don't really know why ... maybe because bball comes so easily to me and running doesn't that I respect him for it? I don't know ... either way, so proud. He got a medal (every runner did) but he calls it a gold medal. He is so proud of that thing. I framed the picture of him crossing the finish line and of him holding his medal and gave it to him. He placed it on his shelf and enjoys looking at it. Did I mention how proud I am of him??????

Nothing exciting ...

Hello.
Not much is going on here these days. I had a great weekend. Friday night we took the boys to stay with Grandma and Papaw Hoffman for the weekend. Marcus and I went into the big town of Fort Wayne and had a date ... yep, an actual date. We got to the Jefferson Pointe Mall about 5:45 and walked around for awhile. I love window shopping with Marcus. Now, if I am on a mission - forget it. He's staying home. We went to dinner around 7:30 and then more shopping at Kohl's. We went to a late movie (too late for us! 9:40 ... that is ridiculous) and headed home about 11:30. I was beat. Saturday I did some homework and at 5 went to dinner and bowling with some friends that I used to work with. We had a great time ... until I pulled a muscle in my neck. This leads to Sunday. I was too sore to move. I was like a zombie. I seriously laid in bed until 3 when I went to get the kiddos. BLAH! Aleve does wonders however.

This week is actually not too action packed. Saturday we are taking the boys to something called, "Plow Day." I guess the Amish and us 'English' get together to compare plows and eat! What could be better!?!?!

OH ... today is Aiden's picture day at school. He looked very handsome in his polo shirt and spiked hair. Do they still give out those unbreakable combs on picture day??? I'll be sure to let you know!

Talk to you soon,
Carrie

Weekend Update

Took the boys to see "Wall-E" on Friday night. Strange movie ... no talking until about an hour into it. Just wasn't my fav, but Aiden seemed to enjoy it (Logan fell asleep).
Saturday I decided to appear as the AU Raven at the Lapel Village Fair. Ok, HOT is an understatement! I had to stop a few times in order to chug some water (which meant removing my 'head' and thus freaking some children out ... oops!) I was so proud of the fact that I made it through the parade without passing out and even was able to walk around as a civilian for about an hour afterwards. Well ... I spoke to soon. I was to meet my parents, sister and bro-in-law for dinner. Driving towards the restaurant I felt very tired. I had the boys with me so I made them continue to talk with me. We made it into the restaurant and I had Mom get me some water while we waited for a table. The second I took a drink I was just sure I was going to get sick so I ran into the bathroom. As soon as I came out of the stall I knew I was going to pass out. Mom had come into the room at that point, but I had her lead me out (I did NOT want to pass out on the bathroom floor of a restaurant!) So, I passed out in front of the enterances to the men's and women's bathrooms! I AM A NERD! Nick (Dr. Koontz that is) came over and checked my pulse and got some ice bags. He also made me chug some water. I laid there for what seemed like hours (probably more like 20 minutes) and then felt much better. Even stayed for dinner! I left with a horrible headache, but was able to head to bed early which was nice.
Sunday was spent staring at my computer hoping a paper would write itself. That didn't happen. I am beyond stressed with school, last week of work, closing on the new house, moving, vacation ... could I add anything else on the plate!?!?! Some prayers would be awesome this week!

What a deligthful weekend

Helllllloooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a busy but delightful (I never use that word so I thought I would ...) weekend.

Friday I signed my life away (felt like it at least) with a delightful loan officer. She was so nice and helpful. She is hoping for a July 8th closing day for the new house! CRAZINESS!!!!!!!!!!

Friday night I scrapped with Steph, Beth and Missy until midnight. We were back at it on Saturday at 10 am. Missy and Beth stayed until midnight again, but Steph and I worked until 1:30 AM! CRAZINESS!!!!!!!! x's 2! Oh, and we had a delightful time.

Sunday I visited a church up in that area and then drove home for a quick nap. I needed my rest to catch up from the weekend and to gear up for delightful Fishers Freedom Festival Fireworks. WHOA! Now my sis says that our little town has a lot of rednecks ... but Fishers has their fair share too. We had a great time though. The boys were perfect or, delightful ... a bit sugared up ... but perfect. They had pizza, pop, funnel cakes, cotton candy, kettle corn and snow cones (yep, Aunt Jamie was behind most of it!) The night ended with my sister, Sandy and I singing (ok, belting out) our most delightful rendition of "I'm Proud to be an American" to our sister, Jamie. She isn't a big fan of that song due to 5th grade traveling choir. HAHAHA! She was mortified ... just as we had planned. We didn't get home until after midnight so they slept in; I could not. BLAH!

Anyway, attached are some delightful pics from the night. The one of Gavin is to commemorate his first 4th of July celebration! The one of Aiden holding the snow cone cracks me up. Can you say SUGAR!??!?!
