Aiden's Bowling Birthday Party

Aiden's only request for his birthday this year was to have a bowling party (complete with a bowling alley cake decorated by my mom!). So ... we granted his wish. Nine of his pals came from 6-8 Friday night for pizza, bowling, cake and presents. I think everyone had a good time. I've attached some pictures.

His actual birthday is Wednesday the 21st ... my baby is almost 5!!!!!!!!!!! Five years ago at this time I had been laying in the hospital for 2 hours already on an IV to induce labor. I had gotten the 'pregnancy rash' (PUPPP) and my blood pressure had gone up ... thus the induction. It was such a long day. He finally arrived at 2:34 am! I should find a baby pic of him and post it on here tomorrow ... check back!

Happy Late Mother's Day to ME!

This mother's day our celebration as a family had to be a little later than the actual day (although I truly think EVERYDAY should be Mother's Day!) ANYWAY ... I had asked that for mother's day we (me, Marcus and the boys) all go to an Indianapolis Indians game. Sounded like a great idea. So, I took yesterday (Wednesday) off to do so. The day began with breakfast in bed ... Marcus does this for me every year - a wonderful tradition! Then we packed up and headed out the door. It was a very gloomy day, so we had debated about going to the game. Instead, we opted for the Children's Museum! We had a blast! The boys were great and seemed to really enjoy it. It was their first time there. Aiden enjoyed the dinosaurs, but Logan was a bit afraid. Logan really enjoyed the trains. We were there for nearly 4 hours. Then we headed back to Anderson and enjoyed dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It was a PERFECT late Mother's Day day! I love my family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy the pics!

Aiden's Graduation

Well ... I made it through Aiden's preschool graduation with a few tears, lots of giggles and a ton of pictures! After the graduation we all came back to our house for a 'reception' in honor of the graduate. We had a full house. Both sets of grandparents, Aunt Sandy, Eric, Aunt Jamie and Uncle Nick along with Gavin and then the four of us. We had pizza and cake. What could be better!?! Pictures are posted below along with a video! ENJOY!

Gulp

This week has been odd ... memorable, but odd. Monday we saw a beautiful rainbow, Tuesday I didn't feel well at all but made it through the day and to Aiden's ball game. Wednesday I had to be off work because of not feeling well ... slept ALL DAY. Yesterday Jill and I looked out my office window to see ducks on Warner Press' roof ... we never see ducks around here! Just squirrels! Then today I woke up - felt pretty well and walked into Aiden and Logan's room. Logan was already awake and watching tv. Aiden was sound asleep. As I sat on his bed to wake him up - it hit me. Today is Aiden's last day of preschool ... ever. GULP! Ok, no tears. "Aiden ... good morning! It's time to wake up for your last day of school!" Aiden opens his eyes and says, "Forever? I don't go back to 'church school' ever after today?" AHHH! So yes, I cried. I don't really know if Aiden noticed or not. I cried more after I dropped him off. I didn't think it would bother me so much. I figured at graduation on Monday I would cry seeing him up on stage, but not today. I felt so dumb. But then I got to thinking ... that's not dumb! I am simply a mother crying because she is so very proud of what her son has become in the last 5 (yes, another gulp ... he'll be 5 May 21) years. A mother that has learned so much from that son in 5 years. It's amazing how much he has learned - good and bad - in just this past year. If he calls me 'DUDE' one more time ... AHHH! But then sometimes it strikes me as being so funny. He is an encourager and loves to hear about Jesus. He likes to tell me whether God or Jesus or both made the sunny days, the rainy days, the rainbows ... on and on. They both have specific roles in his mind. It amazes me how much he retains. He remembers things that Marcus and I have to struggle to remember! SCARY! I could go on and on. I know this is just another chapter of life ... one of many ... and these tears are probably just a sampling of what tears are to come. Now, if I can just pick up the phone to call and see how his last day was ... double GULP!

Opening Weekend!

Saturday is opening day for Aiden's T-Ball league. We have a parade and then he plays the first game of the season ... PLAY BALL! I know one or two pics will be taken and I'll share them on Monday.

Saturday afternoon I am going to a baby shower and actually get to meet the baby!! My friend from high school, Christy, had a baby in February and we get to meet her! Her name is Carly Sue and I am very excited. I LOVE BABIES!

I am very excited about Sunday. Marcus and I invited our parents to tour a home in South Whitley that we are considering. We want opinions ... but we may get more than we asked for with 4 parental figures with us! EEEEKKK! Please pray! I've attached a picture of the front of the house we will be touring. We both love it and know that it's all in God's hands and time ... that is so much easier to write than to totally mean! I know that we both KNOW that ... but completely trusting in that is hard sometimes. Or is it just us?
The next Hoffman Home????????

Anyway, attached are some more pictures from last weekend. ENJOY!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Carrie
